*oh no!* i cant believe i've forgotten my bloggies first birthday!!

*!*!*!*!*okie okie.... change date.. screw Friday, November 07, 2003... pretend its: "Thursday, October 30, 2003" (yes, the beauty of Pretendreality.. anything can happen thats why i love her so much *grin*)*!*!*!*!*

thats when i created her.. never been one of those deep writers that keep questioning and doubting and warping and squeezing the norms of life.. i let the pros do that *heh* .. i just ramble.. mainly for myself and for my friends in faraway lands (yes, nearaway land friends too..) to find out what im up to..

i used to have more to write. but then i realised that too many people i dont know who read it too.. (first week in nus: "oh so u're mildred! i read ur blog!" haha flattering.. but kinda scary..heh) So now im just reporter.. leave the finer things for my private blog with my blog buddy..

hmm.. many things have happened this year.. even crazier than jc1 (which i used to think was the most eventful year of my life)

highlights of the my bloggonic year

-well there were the a-levels
-the us university application fiasco (dont ask.. it's worse than not getting accepted)
-the "Voldemort Affair" aka he-who-shall-not-be-named (hehe but lynn knows)
-my first clubbing experience
-my very exciting 1 month attachment as a salesgirl for Tophop/Topman, etc..
-my first office job as a marketing assistant
-my foot operation and 3 months on crutches
-went for my first spin ard the parking lot *heh* (but still no basic theory)
-NUS arts camp and University altogether
-My "thot this only happened in movies" encounter with the alternative lifestyle
-Moving into hostel and learning how to operate a washing machine and dryer
-Learning how to play and captain Touch Rugby (at a very amature level.. but v fun still)
-Getting in and performing with Rockers (makes me feel like a rockstar *heh*)
- ..and 2 reasons why i feel like Kirsten Dunst *think: movies*

well there it is.. Happy 1st Birthday, Pretendreality, thanks for always being there for me even when i sometimes didnt have the time for you.. (though there was that period of time when u kept hiding the archives, but i forgive u.. u always gave em back after i panicked)

ALRIGHTY... this is my measly attempt at trying to resuscitate my poor neglected, overlooked, put-on-waiting list blog.. "i've been busy" is the biggest understatement of an excuse so im just gonna cut to the chase and try to catch up from where i left off..

hmm lets see..
Oct 17- Rockers Acoustica Chillout performance..hehe not only was it my first paid performance but the ambience we pulled-off was awesome.. a little airconed dungeon with pillows and blankets on the floor, lava lamps and aromatherapy.. sexy orange lighting.. with drinks and mixers to boot *sweeet* .. i sang Fiona Apple's Criminal.. something i thot would be fun to try and in deed it was.. did Tracy Chapman's Give Me One Reason as a duet with Hafez and realised that the song can be done in an incredibly sexy rendition.. hehehe.. heard some guys were left 'pretty excited' afterwards haha

27 Oct- Next performance: Kulture Nite.. kinda like a musical where all the performing groups in hall got tgt in a single plot performance.. theme was gypsy and turkish.. and i got to sing 2 of my fave love songs! - 'Sometimes love just aint enough'.. and 'I believe (love is the answer)' .. the former with Shane..
On the same night, the 1st copy of the year of the hall magazine 'Rendezvous' was distributed.. why do i care? cuz im the sub-editor.. and i created a bimbo personality quiz and i got to see it in print.. *grin*

28 Oct- oh my mommy's bday and we had dinner at the pretty pretty esplanade jap restaurant.. and when i came back to hall we voted for contestants for our KR hall pageant.. after a big hoo-ha.. guess who's the female representing a-blk.. hahahaha.. but yeah, its true.

6 Nov- thats tdy. finally presented my last project/assignment of the semester (bizad project on Citibank's customer service) and can finally settle down to study for my exams.. which *gasp* is in like 10 days time! but then again. i've tried not to lag behind in my work this time ard so i hope i do well for them *wishie-wish*.. i wanna go on an exchange program back to US *dreamy sigh*

well thats it for now.. regret not writing in more frequently abt deeper things.. those just seem to float thru my mind before i have time to pen them down ;P ..like realizing that my hair looks the best after it goes a day or two unwashed.. so beware on the days i have great hair.. muhahaha (which, by the way, i cut.)

If you're my aquaintance and 'heard' frm somewhere that I 'look' Chinese but 'fake' an accent or something, I will explain now (though it's never once and for all): I'm an American born Chinese, my parents are Hongkongers. I was born in Chicago, raised in Hongkong till I was 5, moved to Boca Raton, Florida and stayed till I was 11, moved to Trophy Club, Texas and stayed till i was 13, moved to Singapore and have stayed there since. Throughout my preschool-univeristy life i have attended 13 schools so far. Was it tough? did it make me bitter? I dont think so, ask any of my friends.. or try and find someone who hates me.. *wink*
